Library working hours

08.00 am to 3.00 pm (Monday – Saturday)
Library remains closed on public holiday.


Circulation Service

Members can visit the Circulation Section for enrolment of membership, issue and return of books and renewal of books, fine payments, for No Dues Certificate etc.


Membership

All Higher Secondary student, Graduation students, teaching and Non-Teaching staff are member of library.


Issue of books

Books are issued/received and renewed at the Circulation Counter. Members are responsible for all the materials borrowed on their cards. Borrower should present his/her I.D. card & borrower card simultaneously to borrow or renew the book.


Book Renewals

For renewal, books must be brought to the Circulation Counter in person. To avoid overdue charges, books should be returned or renewed before the due date stamped on Due Date Slip. Students are eligible for book renewal up to two consecutive times. Books will not be renewed without a valid Library ID card.


Books lost or damaged

Borrower is responsible for the condition of the book borrowed. In case of loss of a book or damage, the replacement or actual cost of the books with penalty is to be paid.


E-Journals and Online databases

Library has 02 Computers with Internet Connection, users can search their desired information through these. We provides free broadband internet facility to all the users. Library helps to find out E-Journals and Online Databases through important Website links. We promote use of e-Resource such as Directory of Open Access Journals, etc.


Library User Card (Library ID card)

  1. 1.   Library I.D. Card and borrower cards will be issued on receipt of admission list and production of I.D. Card issued authentically by Vidarbha College of Arts, commerce and Science, Jiwati.
  2. 2.   Loss of ID card OR borrowers card, should be reported promptly at the Circulation Counter. Duplicate ID card will be issued on payment of Rs.25/- will be collected towards the loss of borrower card and no duplicate borrower card will be issued during the same academic year.
  3. 3.   Both I.D. and all borrower cards should be renewed at a time.
  4. 4.   Members are responsible for all materials borrowed on their cards.


Suspension of Membership

Borrowing privileges will be suspended if - Discontinued the studies or found misusing the library facility.


Overdue Charges

If the book is not returned even after due date, the matter will be reported to the concerned person/authorities for the return of the book. After one week from book borrowed overdue charges will apply as one rupee per day, per book.


No dues certificate

No Dues Certificate will be issued only after return of all the books, borrower cards, the Library Identity Card and charges paid if any.


Library Rules & Regulations

  1. 1. Identity Card should be compulsory entering into the library.
  2. 2. Students can borrow study material from 08:30 am to 03.40 pm.
  3. 3. Students can borrow text-books, magazines, newspapers, question-paper set etc. on their identity card.
  4. 4. Reference books are not issued out. However, they are made available in the Reading Room.
  5. 5. Reference Documents like Dictionary, Encyclopedia, Year Books, Journals, Theses, Project Reports, Census, Handbooks will not be issued outside the Library premises.
  6. 6. Books Borrowed should be protected from RAIN, DUST, INSECT, etc.
  7. 7. Readers should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library resources in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he will be charged the full replacement cost of the resource.
  8. 8. Smoking, spitting, sleeping, eating, chitchatting are strictly prohibited.
  9. 9. Indiscipline / Misbehavior will not be tolerated. Misbehavior will be a sufficient reason for suspending the Library facilities.
  10. 10. Every student should possess identity card in the college campus. On demand, he / she should produce the same.
  11. 11. Junior, U.G. students are given two books for a week.
  12. 12. The students should check the book at the counter before it is issued. If a book is damaged or the paper is missing and torn; it should be brought to the notice of the library staff.
  13. 13. If the book is lost, damaged, torn by the students he/she will have to replace a new copy of the latest edition or pay the double price of the same book.
  14. 14. Missing page Re. 1/- per page and a binding charge of Rs. 10/- per book will be charged.
  15. 15. Suggestion Box is kept in the central library. Constructive suggestions / complaints are welcome. Demand and suggestion slips are available at the circulation desk for your use.
  16. 16. In case of any grievances, contact the librarian.
  17. 17. The librarian may recall a book at any time before its due date, he may increase the overdue charges for the failure to return a book within due date.
  18. 18. No document should be taken from one section to another section without the knowledge and permission of the library staff.
  19. 19. All the students/scholars and outsiders entering the Library shall deposit their bags and other belongings at the entrance and sign in the Register at check point. Only notebooks and the Library books to be returned will be allowed inside.
  20. 20. All the readers are advised not to leave their valuables at the Check Point. Library is not responsible for any loss of personal belongings.
  21. 21. Library does not permit any exception in the observance of this rule.
  22. 22. Books removed from the shelves by students, if not required for reference, should be kept on the book trolley or on table nearest to them.
  23. 23. Please do not try to shelve them yourself. Please remember that a book misplaced is a book lost.
  24. 24. The newspaper(s) should be folded properly after reading and kept back in the designated place.
  25. 25. Students are advised not to issue Books to others on their names.
  26. 26. Conversation and discussion disturbs library ambience. Therefore, all are requested to maintain dignified silence.
  27. 27. Beverages and Eatables are not allowed inside the library.
  28. 28. No visitor or guest is permitted to use the Library without the prior permission of the Librarian. He/ She is required to produce a proper introduction letter from the concerned Institution/Organization to which he/she is attached.

Reading Room Rules & Regulations

  1. 1.   Reading Room will remain open from 08.00 am to 03.00 pm only
  2. 2.   Admission to Reading Room without identity card is prohibited.
  3. 3.   Every reader should sign in the entry register.
  4. 4.   Books/Reading material issued in the Reading Room will have to be returned before leaving the reading room.
  5. 5.   Silence should be observed in Reading Room.
  6. 6.   Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the Reading Room.
